Thoughts behind this drone-insect:
This drone-insect is part of a series of four, inspired by modern drones—both as toys and as war machines. My drone has a brush at the rear, allowing it to back into the center of flowers to pollinate each one.
My thoughts behind the four pollinator drones can be seen as a commentary on the decline of insects and the biodiversity crisis. When real insects are gone, and pollinators are still needed for crops and flowers, human-made “aliens” like this might become the solution.
Each of the drones has a helipad landing zone with a single letter. Together, they spell the word: HELP
Habitat:
Designed as a drone landing pad with the letter “L.”
Materials:
Copper frame, aluminum, and colored foil.
